Meet Team WAVE

Ben

I am running in support of WAVE for a couple of reasons.

One is, of course, personal. I have a sister with Down’s Syndrome, and WAVE has been part of my life since it was founded by my parents in 2010.

The biggest reason, though, is that having grown up with Wave, I’ve had the privilege of seeing first-hand the difference it makes. I’ve watched it bring joy, friendship, confidence, and a genuine sense of belonging to so many incredible people, both with and without disabilities.

It has created a community where everyone is welcomed, valued, and able to be themselves.

Sofia and Jonah

Sofia says, "WAVE holds a very special place in my heart as I’ve been able to witness first-hand how they uphold their ethos and supports its community. Running for WAVE is a huge honour and I’m so excited to celebrate race day with the WAVE family!"

I'm running for WAVE because I've seen how powerful inclusion can be, both in my personal and professional life. WAVE provides a unique, safe space for people of all abilities to learn from each other and to share moments of joy together.
